Decorative Containers

Primitiva Pottery and Tile offers different size vessels.  Some have lids, some don't such as vases or open sculptural work. These works are always one of a kind and do not resemble each other.  Please contact me for photos of what is available.

I make my vessel work in terracotta, white stoneware, and porcelain clays.  Sometimes the terracotta clay has a porcelain laminate before I carve or alter the form. Most of my covered vessels require a third firing in which gold or other lustre overlays are applied.

My "Gaudi Jars," sport tripod feet, bright luscious interiors, sculptural profiles, three dimensional surfaces, and postures suggestive of their personalities. They are at least 12 inches in height.

My vase forms are usually made of terracotta clay and share the colors of my dinnerware line. They can stand alone as a decorative piece or hold flowers.  My recent covered containers are for small treasures. I started developing my "Pillow Boxes" about 10 years ago. November 2008 I debuted them at my first web sale.

My Trillium Box offers a home for watches, jewelry or some special treasure. The interior is a shiny, luscious coral pink or yellow and the exterior a satin chartreuse or light ultramarine. The trillium is always white.
